#4 – Select Wash Setting
It is important to know how to wash comforters in the washing machine. As hot or warm water can shrink the fabric, or cause harm to the comforter’s contents, we recommend cold water. We also recommend using a gentle cycle to wash your clothes.
#5: Use the Correct Detergent
We recommend mild or natural-based detergents as chemical additives can damage comforters over time. Avoid using fabric softener as it can reduce the fluffiness and quality of the down and other down alternatives.
#6 – Dry Comforter
We recommend drying your comforter in the tumble dryer for about 1-2 hours after it has been washed. This will prevent heat damage to comforter fillings. To prevent clumping in the comforter, you can toss some tennis balls in it and then take it out from the tumble dryer once a month to fluff up the filling.
